A Letter to Any Woman Who Has Been Sexually Assaulted – Guest Post @ JoyPedrow.com

Words cannot express how much my heart hurts for you and the terror you have been through. The truth is, I don’t know how to write this letter or what to say, only that is must be written for there are unspoken words you need to hear.

This month, I finally tackled a topic I never thought I would be able to write about: sexual assault. In my research I found 1 in 5 women have been sexually assaulted. 1 IN 5. I’ve spent time this month reflecting on my college experience, reading essays by victims and grieving for the horror that so many women have lived through. The result is this:

  1. Sam! I can’t believe it has been a year already! Wow – that went fast. How cool is it to look at that list of blog posts you’ve written. I love it! Thank you for your words and for being a blessing to the readers of JP Ministries.

    • Joy, I can’t thank you enough for the opportunity you have given me to share these posts on your blog and the unbelievable encouragement and friend you’ve been this last year. So blessed by you and your ministry. To sum up, you’re the best. 🙂

  2. BROKEN BUT not defeated!

I am a victim of extreme heinous crimes. I left the man (my ex husband) who beat, tortured and raped me for years. I have been touched by your words. Thank you for believing! Thank you for posting/sharing! Thank God, I live to tell my story and to be the mother I was not allowed to be while with him! May God bless you!

    • Dana, thank you so much for being brave and sharing that painful part of your story. I grew up with an abusive Dad and can’t imagine the horrors you went through. You are so incredible strong for surviving that and allowing God to heal and renew your deep, deep wounds. Thinking of you tonight my friend.

Please let me know if there’s anything I can ever do to help or anything I can pray for.
