The First Recklessly Alive Video IS HERE & I Need Your HELP!

It’s a little crazy to think about all the life that has sprung forth in the six months since I made this crazy decision to launch Recklessly Alive Ministries.

I’ve been on tour. I’ve been a featured speaker at a youth retreat. I’ve been invited to speak at colleges. I am in talks to speak at a conference for young women. I’m still plugging away at the book with 50,000 out of 60,000 words completed. And this summer, with the help of my friends at Tandem Creative Company, I shot my first 3 minute suicide prevention video!

Uffda, I need a nap.

42,773 people in in the U.S. committed suicide in 2015 and we need to do SOMETHING to reach people who are struggling when the hipster Edison light bulb in my head came up with a video. Then I hired two of the most beautiful humans on the planet to help tell this story.

And they totally killed it.

Check out their website and hire them for your next project here.

The purpose of the video is singular: to save lives.

And to do that I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP. I need you to help share this video with as many people as possible. The truth is someone you know needs to see this video.

The video will officially be released out into the world on Tuesday, November 15th at 9am. Since you are my people, you get the first look.

Well what do you think? (Let me know in the comments below)

Here’s where you come in: I need you to join my THUNDERCLAP campaign.

Thunderclap is a social media platform where users sign up to share a video or message at a certain time on a certain day so that the video will create a HUGE impact upon release. You choose Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr or (preferably) all 3. Then, Thunderclap will post the video link and this message: “Every 12.8 minutes someone in the U.S. commits suicide. Choose to Stay.” at that time. Easy enough right?

The catch is, if we don’t reach our goal of 250 shares, the message is not shared.

Dun, dun, dun….

Head over to Thunderclap Here.

The truth is, I don’t want to send this story out into the world. I just know that I have to. So will you join me? Will you take a stand for those thinking about ending their life? Will you help me send hope to someone who thinks death may be their best option?

Thank you all for being on this journey with me. Let’s change the freaking world together. 🙂

Love,

  4. This is such a touching, sincere, and heart-felt video, Sam! Your life is such an inspiration, Sam, and I am so thankful for the many, many lives that you have and will be changing through your example. 5. Fresh and from the heart…love it.

When you’ve been there yourself you earn the right to talk to others – when you have overcome, you are able to show the way out.

Your passion shows Sam, I know you have the fuel to kick that door in and make a difference.

    I wish you well.

  6. Wow. What a way to risk it all in putting yourself out there in order to help others. As Betsie ten Boom wisely told her sister Corrie, “They will listen to us, because we have been here.” God bless you, young man. I will join your campaign.

  7. Awesome! You’re really so full of passion and wisdom. Sharing this on my FB page.
